Marquise diamonds are elongated elliptical-shaped diamonds with pointed ends. They gained much popularity during the 1970's to a point where they gained the name " mother's diamond". Featured today, is also a moval cut (marquise + oval) shaped diamond. This shape is known to be a modish blend of both cuts, and seems to create an illusion of a greater surface area. This step-cut marquise diamond, unlike regular marquise diamonds, have a beauty of their own. Step cut diamonds create a hall-of-mirrors effect, giving a sense of infinity to the diamonds - an endless hallway to heaven!
